Re: Negotiations update
Date: January 24, 2009
First and foremost let me say that we appreciate everyone’s patience, we understand that this continues to be a longer process than everyone expected. As of this date we’ve had 3 meetings with the City, the first being January 8 and again on January 15 and January 21. The proposal that was discussed at this month’s union meeting has not really changed to this point, we have offered a counter offer after reviewing the cost analysis of their current offer and we are waiting for an answer. We are hopeful that their response will be favorable for us and a tentative agreement can be reached shortly.
The issue to this point still remains salaries. We are well aware of the status of the economy and have considered this in our counter proposal. We still feel there are some differences in the cost analysis sheets that need to be rectified. We are making every attempt to resolve these issues and get a deal done as soon as possible. We are not scheduled to meet again with the City until February 4th, due to scheduling conflicts with all parties. We will update all of you as soon as more information is available.
Yours in Brotherhood.
President Tim Soucy

Re: Update
Date: January 10, 2009
This memo is to update all members as to the status of negotiations. As of this date January 10, 2009, we’ve had 2 meetings since we agreed to return to the negotiating table. The first meeting settled the grievance regarding the step increases and the second meeting took place on Thursday January 8, 2009. The City and the Fire Commission gave us a proposal regarding salaries, our negotiating team, along with Attorney Molan are preparing a counter proposal for the City, which will be presented to them at the next scheduled meeting which will take place on January 15, 2009. The following information and the any new information that we obtain will be discussed at the January 13, 2009 union meeting.
Yours in Brotherhood

Re: Signs
Date: November 1, 2008
Due to an unfortunate event, I must state to all members that placing or leaving the Local sanctioned signs in any area other than your own property or on a family member’s property will not be tolerated. I received a call stating that one our signs ended up on an alderman’s vehicle on his property. I want to make certain that all members are aware that the Union leadership does not and will not promote this type of behavior. I also want to make it clear that we are not blaming our members, and neither is the individual involved, however I did call this alderman and expressed my apologies, due to the fact that it was one of our signs.
Yours in Brotherhood,
Tim Soucy
